OCT - MAR
OCT - MAR
From october to march
We depart from Ushuaia heading east on National Route No. 3 and then on Route "J". Once at the Lasiphashaj River, preparations will begin for paddling in inflatable canoes along the river and the Beagle Channel. Rubber boots, waterproof pants, and life jackets will be used for paddling downstream and across the sea. Once on the Beagle Channel, you will be able to appreciate the local wildlife, including a variety of seabirds, and it is also possible to spot sea lions.

Once the paddle is finished and you reach the main house of Estancia Harberton, a motorboat will be taken towards Martillo Island. From the boat, you will be able to spot penguins in their breeding site. The motorboat navigation continues until the main attraction of the day: the enormous Gable Island, where lunch awaits with a good Patagonian wine, soda, and mineral water.
After a coffee, the hike begins to explore this marvelous island. Along the way, you will encounter remains left behind by the Yámana civilization and the early settlers. Amidst a silence only disturbed by the wind and the birds, you can experience the sensation of being alone in the world.
After about two hours of hiking, you will return to Puerto Harberton by Zodiac boat to take the bus back to Ushuaia.
