Almanza & Punta Paraná Gourmet
Flavors of the Beagle Channel
Flavors of the Beagle Channel
This excursion is perfect for those who want to go beyond where tourism typically reaches. Traverse snow-covered valleys, icy roads, and frozen lagoons, finally arriving at a place called Punta Paraná. We'll forge our own path to discover a spot untouched by others: our hidden refuge in the forest, nestled beyond Puerto Almanza.
In this marvelous location, nature reigns supreme, and to truly experience an authentic connection with it, we must adapt to its laws. Water can freeze, roads become covered in ice, and phone signal disappears. This is the most authentic Fuegian experience we can offer: we invite you to disconnect from superfluous luxuries and reconnect with the wild essence of the land, right at the confines of Tierra del Fuego!

We will depart from Ushuaia, traveling through the Tierra Mayor Valley until we reach Route "J," a secondary road that winds alongside the Lasifashaj River. The path carves its way through centuries-old forests until it reaches Laguna Victoria, which typically freezes completely in winter.
Continuing along the coast of the Beagle Channel, Route K leads us to Puerto Almanza, where a few families of artisanal fishermen catch king crabs, salmon, and other Channel products to offer in their small restaurants.
Leaving the fishing village behind, the road continues with almost no traffic towards Punta Paraná, a remote area where there are no traces of civilization beyond a few inhabitants. We will find a small hidden path that leads us to a cozy cabin immersed in a forest of ancient Coihue trees. We will light the wood-burning fireplace and enjoy a lunch featuring local products, in a silence only interrupted by the crackling of the fire.
This journey will allow us to enjoy the simplicity and natural beauty of Tierra del Fuego, exploring places that, though infrequently visited by tourists, are hidden treasures of the region. The authenticity and tranquility of this experience will leave us with unforgettable memories of Ushuaia and its surroundings.
