Trekking Vinciguerra glacier
NOV - APR
NOV - APR
The tour begins in the morning with transportation from the hotel to the Andorra Valley, a place where many residents settled and formed one of Ushuaia's characteristic spontaneous urbanizations. After leaving the vehicle, the excursion continues along a winding meltwater river that cuts through the peat bog covering this valley. This wet and slippery terrain will be encountered throughout a large part of the hike, so it is important to wear appropriate footwear.

Once in the forest, the ascent is constant, and although it is intense at the beginning, it becomes less demanding near the tree line, at an altitude of about 600 meters above sea level. Once above the tree line, the breathtaking views of the rugged peaks of the mountain range surrounding the valley where the hike began are truly stunning.
The ascent continues along a flowing stream fed by a glacial lagoon where, a few decades ago, the Vinciguerra Glacier used to calve and release icebergs. Although the glacier has retreated a few tens of meters from the lagoon nowadays, it is still fascinating due to the caves that form and the magical allure it still holds in this area of breathtaking scenery.
